Questions about school websites
Do I need my own domain?
Not to get started. You build and preview your site on a free preview address. To be found on Google, connect your own domain: preview addresses are kept out of search results. You buy the domain at any registrar, usually for a small yearly fee.
What does it cost?
€20 per month or €200 per year, on top of your Edunation plan. It is included in the Institution plan, and free during your 14-day trial.
Can I keep my current domain?
Yes. Point the domain you already own at Edunation by changing its website records at your registrar. The domain stays registered in your name, and email on that domain is not affected.
Which languages can my site be in?
English, Macedonian, Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, Montenegrin, Slovenian, Bulgarian, Albanian, Romanian and Greek. Publish in one or several. AI can translate the whole site, and you review the text before it goes live.
Is it included in the free trial?
Yes. The website is free for the full 14 days of your trial, with every feature, so you can build and preview your site before you decide. During the trial your site is protected by a password you choose and can share with colleagues or parents; it opens to everyone once you add the website to your plan.
What happens if I stop the add-on?
Your site goes offline and visitors see a short "temporarily unavailable" notice. Nothing is deleted: your pages, design and settings stay in Edunation, and the site comes back as it was when you switch the add-on on again.
Do I need a web designer to build our school website?
No. Edunation's school website builder takes care of the layout: pick one of the three designs, set your colours, fonts and logo, and edit the text. Every page adapts to phones and stays consistent.
What if we don't have good photos yet?
The designs are made to look complete without photos. Add your own pictures whenever you have them.
